Water spraying or a sewer backup?

After the Request Comes In
You hear back by the contact method you picked on the form, a phone call or an email. If the job sounds urgent, a phone call is the quicker way; the line is answered during the hours above, seven days a week.
Nothing is priced from the form. An estimate comes only after the problem has been looked at, and each line of it is explained before any work starts. If something unexpected turns up once a wall or floor is opened, you get a call before the job goes further.
On the day of the visit, drop cloths go down before tools come out, and the work area is swept and wiped at the end.
Details That Help
- What is wrong, in plain words: “the kitchen sink drains slowly and gurgles,” “no hot water since this morning.”
- Where it is in the house: which floor, which room, basement or crawl space.
- How old the fixture or water heater is, if you know, and whether the heater is gas or electric.
- Whether other sinks, tubs or the floor drain act up at the same time.
- Whether it is a house you own, a rental unit or a shop, and who should be reached about access.
The full service address and ZIP code are optional on the form, but they let the visit be planned around the right part of town. Hamilton, Fairfield, Middletown, Trenton, Oxford, Monroe and West Chester are covered; the Where We Work page lists the ZIP codes.
Before Anyone Arrives
For a leak, close the shutoff under the fixture or the main water shutoff and keep towels down. For a slow drain, stop pouring chemical drain cleaner into it; it sits in the pipe and makes the work harder and less safe. Clear a path to the problem, and to the water heater or main cleanout if the trouble is a drain. For anything that is spraying water or backing up sewage, the Urgent Service page has the first steps.
